About AOD

Welcome to the Aeronautic Operations Division.  My name is John Hightower, and I am the Director of the Aeronautic Operations Division here at the VUSSP. I am very excited that I have been selected to lead the VUSSP AOD to new and exciting missions.  The space program and NASA has reached new heights over the history of mankind and has accomplished many great scientific and technological feats in air, space, and science.  From the first Gemini astronauts to the conclusion of the Space Shuttle program, and everything in between, America’s space program has cemented itself in history and has taught us many things about the Earth, the universe, and our place in it.

My goal, and the goal of the AOD will be to ensure a 100% success rate of flight missions that include everything from mission critical cargo and personal runs to weather surveillance and Pilot testing of new and future aircraft.  As we work together, the AOD will exceed and surpass every challenge that is handed to us.

Are you interested in becoming a part of this great adventure? Then step right up to the next best thing to a real launch by NASA.  Greek mathematician Archimedes said, “Give me a lever long enough, and I’ll move the world” and that’s exactly what we are doing here. The AOD is looking for pilots from all backgrounds and we have a place for you!

We operate very similar to NASA in many ways, so if your dream is to fly support of missions, take part in launches as you fly VIPs and high security agents, plus many other fun and exciting endeavors then joining the AOD is just for you!  To become part of the AOD team or to become a pilot we ask that you be a minimum of ?? years of age, and have a positive attitude. We also would like to see people be able to devote AT LEAST ?? hours per month in flying missions for the VUSSP.

Join today to become part of the next best thing to a real launch!  We will also provide the weather reconnaissance necessary for each launch along with a test piloting program that will train our next generation of astronauts! Stay tuned for more updates on the AOD!
